The Students’ Association is an organisation run by students, for
students and is completely independent of the University. We employ
professional Advocacy Officers who give free advice and assistance to
students on a completely confidential basis.
You may find yourself having problems with enrolment, processes,
special consideration, complaints about marks or teaching, subject
review appeals, exclusion or misconduct. University can sometimes be
hard to navigate, especially if you have just begun your time here. The
Students’ Association Advocacy Officers are here to help you and are
able to liaise with professional staff from the Student Services Unit
and the International Office and can refer students to other support
services within the University including the Student Ombuds Office
where appropriate. Advocacy Officers also tackle broader and systemic
issues with the University on the behalf of all students.
Are you having problems with your course? Not getting your
assignments back? Not getting assessment feedback? Gotten into trouble?
Don’t understand how things work? Want to appeal your mark? Been
charged with misconduct? Want to appeal an exclusion notice? Or got an
unfair Peer Review?
Then come down to the Students’ Association now! Don’t put off
talking with us until it is too late. If you notice a problem or have a
query, drop in to the office or give us a call as soon as you can.
